Tati’s Weekly Checkup – 11.30.10

by ** Tatiana Caldwell ** on November.30.2010

I had a great Thanksgiving week! Did you?

The Good:

  • I had fun, relaxing week spending time with my family, enjoying some video games, and preparing (and devouring) great food.
  • My first book, SAY MY NAME, is now available on Amazon.com. If you’ve been waiting for the book to come out in Kindle format, here you go. Or if you’ve read the story and would like to leave feedback on the book’s page, please feel free to do so.

The Bad:

  • I’ve been traveling in and out of town due to work a LOT. It’s tiring and I don’t like leaving my family so frequently, and it worst of it – it disrupts by schedule greatly. I feel like I’m falling behind on everything.
  • I failed at NaNo. I didn’t finish the book, didn’t even come close. I started late, was doing (and still doing) a lot of back and forth traveling/driving, holiday time, etc. I made a decent attempt at starting it but I don’t like the direction I took at all, and since I will likely scrap most of all those thousands of words I wrote and will start over, I’m not going to even count that. *sniffs* Oh well.

The Work In Progress:

My last completed novella, WAY OUT OF CONTROL, is still being read by a couple of beta readers and I’m waiting to hear the feedback from them before I send that out to be considered for publication.

The cover for my upcoming novella, THE SUMMONING, is done, in case you missed it.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m pretty much starting fresh on my newest novella, ABDUCTED, since I don’t like what I’ve written so far. I’m probably going to take a break for a few days to rethink my direction with the story so I can start refreshed. But that’s okay – this wouldn’t be the first time I scrapped a story and started over (and doubtfully will it be the last).

Gotta run, another week awaits!
