Here’s how last week (plus yesterday) went for me:
The Good:
- I received my very first royalty check ever! (Um no, I won’t be able to quit my job and move amongst the rich and famous anytime soon, but it’s a start and I’m proud!)
- I was offered – and accepted – a publishing contract for THE SUMMONING. That’s all the good news I have, but getting my work sold is definitely good news.
The Bad:
- My twisted ankle began bothering me enough that I had to see the doctor. Fortunately x-rays showed that I didn’t fracture it, but apparently I sprained it pretty bad. I’m wearing an air cast on it and have been ordered to try to stay off it for at least 4 weeks.
- I hadn’t realized before just how much I need to be up and on my feet, until now that I’m consciously trying to stay off them. There just aren’t a whole lot of chores or exercises that you can do sitting down.
The Cool:
My husband has changed the name of his design business to Digital Hook, and launched a new website (http://thedigitalhook.com). Click the link to see the portfolio of his excellent design and artwork. Feel free to contact me (or go to him directly through the link on his website) if you’d like affordable help with:
- Website layout and design
- Banners, headers and ads
- Logos
- Book covers
- Business card designs
- Concept art for characters / creatures
- Ad Copy
The Work In Progress:
Naughty me, I didn’t finish editing WAY OUT OF CONTROL as I’d hoped due to me deciding to make some bigger changers than I’d originally planned, but I am about 65% through revisions. Hopefully I can have it done by the end of this week, otherwise I’ll be a a few days late starting on my next writing project for NaNoWriMo. Which wouldn’t be the end of the world, but I’d really like to see myself work as hard to meet my own self-imposed deadlines for a change, as I work and manage to meet deadlines dictated by others. (Now does that mean I need to work on being a better employee to myself, or a better boss? Hmmm …)
