Well I’m back, after being MIA for a week. First time for many months that I’ve skipped out on posting anything on my blog for an entire week, but I was feeling a lot of stress and needed a little break away from everything so that I could release, relax and refocus.
The Bad:
- I had a to-do list ten miles long (including personal, job, volunteering, mentoring, writing and freelance/business tasks) which completely overwhelmed me to the point of burnout
- Because I was so stressed out, interpersonal conflicts blew up and became much bigger issues than they needed be … which further added to my stress
The Good:
- I’m still alive. And I’m back
- My to-do list has been cut down to nearly half. Some items got checked off. Others were simply pushed off to a future date after I spent time re-prioritizing my goals and their timelines in a way that enabled me to reach my objectives without overburdening myself
The Funny:
As part of my efforts to de-stress, I learned the moves to this dance routine and performed them repeatedly. With zeal. Apparently too much zeal for a non-dancer of my age, as I consequentially suffered from sore and stiff neck, shoulders and back for more than 48 afterwards.
It did help clear my mind and loosen my nerves quite a bit, though …
The Cool:
The Work In Progress:
I finished revising my paranormal erotic romance, THE SUMMONING, and got it submitted. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the editor I submitted it to wants to buy it.
My writing buddy read and provided some valuable feedback on the draft of my sci-fi romance, WAY OUT OF CONTROL, which I will be revising this week. This may prove to be a bit of a challenge, considering that I’m out of town most of this week and I always struggle with sticking to my schedule when I’m away from home. But I’m determined to give it my very best effort to be a good girl, even after long days of business suits, tedious meetings and training sessions.
I hope you had a good week. Time for me to go and start making this one a better one than the past two have been.
