13 Shows I’d Like To Watch

by ** Tatiana Caldwell ** on September.2.2010

Who says there’s nothing good on television? If you can navigate past the crappy stuff, there’s plenty of good stuff to watch. Or at least I think they’d be good, if I had time to watch them. I DVR a few shows right now that I’ve seen pretty much every episode of so far: Fringe, Eureka, True Blood, House and Private Practice. There’s also only a handful of shows that are no longer running that I also watched faithfully: such as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Legend of the Seeker and Girlfriends.

Here’s a list of 13 more shows I’d love to watch if I had the time (in no particular order). The ones in pink are ones that I’ve tried to watch, but I’m grossly behind  - at least a couple of seasons, or more. The others, I haven’t even seen a single full episode of yet.

  1. Supernatural
  2. Stargate SG-1
  3. Star Trek: Deep Space 9
  4. Dexter
  5. Warehouse 13
  6. Battlestar Galactica
  7. Spartacus
  8. X-files
  9. Buffy
  10. Star Trek: Enterprise
  11. Lost
  12. Entourage
  13. Merlin

I kind of quit watching television but used to enjoy "Warehouse 13". I bet it would be fun to watch with you! Nowadays, I'd rather write in my free time.

You know what, I bet it would be fun to watch it together! Hmm … *rubs chin*

I agree, though. I'd rather write or read in my free time, too. Hence so many shows I haven't seen.

I'm just really glad Buffy is on Netflix download so I can watch the episodes at my own pace.

True. Would you laugh if I said my Netflix queue is actually full? So full, I can't add anything else to it?

Yes, I have 500 movies/shows in my queue. That's how long it takes me to get to 'em …

Love Supernatural! It's our favorite show! Sam and Dean are just too yummy for words!

Love Buffy, too. Oh, and Star Trek Enterprise. That's my favorite television Star Trek. I've got a thing for Scott Bakula! LOL!

*hugs*

I'm still only on season 2 of Supernatural, but so far I really like it! I worry it's going to take me a year to get caught up, heh.

Never seen a single episode of Buffy. And I have a thing for Scott Bakula, too (check out my Why Star Trek is Hot posts)

Dexter is one of the shows in my holy trinity: Dexter, True Blood, and Mad Men. If you have time (and Netflix) the first 2 Dexter seasons are on Instant Queue.

In Treatment is a runner-up and I'm looking forward to Boardwalk Empire.

I've seen exactly seasons 1 and 2 of Dexter, thanks to Netflix Instant Queue, heh. I also love True Blood.

Mad Men – do I know anything about Mad Men? Nope. What's that about?

Never heard of Treatment or Boardwalk Empire, either. I'm out of touch.

Mad Men comes on AMC and has gotten critical acclaim, awards, etc. It's set in the 50s/60s and focuses on an ad agency during that time. The acting is so good on that show. It seems kind of slow if you tune in randomly, but the subtleties, writing, and storylines are awesome.

In Treatment comes on Showtime; focuses on Gabriel Byrne (I think that's his name) as a psychiatrist and each episode focuses on a different patient. There are 5 shows a week; 4 shows=4 patients, the 5th show is his own therapy session. The patients are the same through the whole season so you see their progression or regression and you recognize problems you have faced or others.

Boardwalk Empire hasn't come on yet, it comes on HBO next month!

Thanks Gem, I'll have to add them to my list of shows to check out in the future! "In Treatment" sounds especially intriguing.

We have very different taste in shows. However,I would like to check out Merlin.

Happy T13!

What kind of shows do you like, Adelle?

Hmm. Some overlap, but I tend toward Discovery Channel.

Haven't seen that channel in ages. Haven't casually browsed any channel in a while, though.

I have seen a few of those shows though none with regularity. Going by the pictures, Merlin and Spartacus appeal.

If not for my DVR, I'd never seen anything. I could never make it to the television at the same time every week.

We have vastly different tastes in TV shows. The only one I've seen or even been remotely interested in is Warehouse 13. Loved season one and, no longer having cable, have missed it this summer.

I plan to get rid of cable very soon. With things like Netflix, Hulu and DVDs, I doubt I'll miss it, heh.

I wish I had more time to watch TV. I ususally watch the Antiques Roadshow and Leverage. But I'd like to see Castle too.

I haven't heard of a couple of these. Spartucus has just started down here in NZ.

I haven't seen some of the shows on your list, but Supernatural, Stargate (actually, I really like the new one, Stargate Universe with Robert Carlyle), Dexter, Spartacus and Merlin are all huge favorites. As well as True Blood and Legend of the Seeker. I have to watch them whenever I get time. (what's that?) I also love Spooks (MI-5 in North America.)

I've never heard of Spooks. Not that I've got room for another show I can't watch anyways. ;)

Spartacus is the best thing to come to television in… a long time.
