Last week while thinking about thirteen things I was hesitant to try but am glad I did, I came up with a list of thirteen things I have yet to do but want to someday.
- Go Parasailing
- Snorkeling / Scuba Diving
- Visit London, England
- Try skydiving
- Make it to a best-seller list. Any list.
- Develop a commercial computer game
- Ballroom dancing
- Voice-over in a cartoon, game or audio book
- Be an extra in a movie (just to say I did)
- Watch or read “The Color Purple” without crying
- Be 100% debt free (not even a mortgage)
- See a published book I authored, on somebody’s shelf
- Be a grandmother
What about you? What are some things you’d like to do?

I'd love to be able to fly in a plane without bracing for a fiery death the entire trip. It would make it so much easier to achieve the rest of the things I'd like to do once, like visiting Alaska, Hawaii, Great Britain, Egypt, Japan, Australia…
We're going to have to get you over your fear of flying, then. It sounds like you've got places to go!
Great list and ditto on #3, 5, 7, 11, 12, and 13.
Happy Thursday!
Thanks Stephanie! Happy Thursday / Birthday to you!
Fabulous list and I agree with most too!
1) I gotta get good and drunk first but I definitely want to do this.
2) Ditto as soon as someone invents shark repellent.
3) My very charismatic godson has people there so I should be going soon. Have passport will travel lol
4) I'll wave at you from the ground. Instead I want to go to Alaska.
5) You will you will! I feels it in my bones! I would like to hear just once that someone enjoyed a story I wrote and enjoyed. I think I'd die very happy.
6) You have a house full of game testers so have at it! I on the otherhand want to date the guy who will hand you the multi-million dollar check to purchase the game. I don't want to marry him just date him to see what it is like to be around all that wealth.
7) That is so beautiful and graceful to watch. I had a coworker who competed in the competitions. She seemed to really come alive on the dance floor. Go for it! I on the otherhand would like to live and work outside the US for at least a year just once in my life.
8.) Me too! I had a phone heaux job once but I'd rather do something that my uptight family could be proud of. lol
9) Hmmm, I want an autograph copy of the movie. I want to go to Africa and see the slave camps. I want to see where I've come from.
10) Pish! Just stop! I don't think it can be done if you have a heart. I want to fall in love with someone who is in love with me.
11) Ditto!
12) Come visit me I'll have them all! I want to trace my family history. I was watching PBS this weekend tracing black's family histories and it was so amazing to find out how much we've contributed that has been hidden and distorted. I'd like to know what my family has forgotten whether good or bad. It is still part of me.
13) All the perks of being a mom and you get to give them back when you are tired! Awesome squared! I just want to have a life worth remembering.
Your reply is better than my post! *laughs*
4) For some reason, Alaska, *coughCOLDcough* doesn't appeal to me much.
5)When will I get to see one of these stories of yours, hmm?
7)Live and work outside of the country would be exciting. I haven't even been out of the country for a visit (Canada doesn't count).
8.) *laughs* that's close enough!
10) Awww, I hope you do, too.
12) You are too friggin' sweet
13) I want to have a life worth remembering, too. And to be remembered.
You go to Alaska around this time of the year and it is like spring. Everyone who I know who has gone was completely awed.
Canada counts! If there is a border to cross then it counts!
*looking sheepish* I am revising my stories again. They're coming.
True. Everyone I know who's been to Alaska has said it was absolutely gorgeous. Maybe I'll give it some more consideration …
Do it! If you don't like it…blame the hubby for not talking you out of. *shrug* I can find a way to make just about anything a man's fault.
What a great list! I always wanted to be a backup singer in a band for a set or two. The excitement would wear off quickly, I think, but a brief stint would be a blast.
I have this small fantasy of singing in a band, too. Too bad I can't sing. I'd be good at playing the drums, though.
Hm. well, I have been an extra in a movie. It was boring. And I will forever, ever associate the B-52s with that moment in my life. Because it was a party scene and we listened to Love Shack approximately 2,394 times while filming that scene.
Fun list, though.
Heh heh, well I appreciate you sharing your perspective. Maybe I'm not missing out on much after all, eh?
awesome list
you can have 1,2 and 4…and 13 girl bye! I don't ever want to be a grandmother EVER!!!!
Beth? You will love it! You will probably end up bonking The Boy on the head and asking him why he didn't do it sooner! lol All grandparents do is spoil them and send them home. That's the fun part. Stop being an old fuddy duddy before your time.
Tell her, CC!
an old fuddy duddy wants grandkids
I ain't trying to be old heffa
I just don't need grandkids…I'm cool without them ever
*laughs* aww come on, don't you want to see your legacy extended for yet another generation?
what legacy?
girl bye
I don't even really like kids all like that…now that the boy is grown…I'm done with kids woo hoo!!!!
Lies and propaganda! Speaking as an aunty several times over and godmom kids keep you young! The boy is going to get married and give you half a dozen grandkids just because you said you were done. lol
girl bye!
I've been raising kids since I was 8 (looks at my niece and nephew)
they do not keep you young…looks at all my gray hair
I have 11 nieces and nephews
5 Godchildren
1 great niece and another on the way
we won't talk about the kids named after me (my middle name is real popular among my friends for some reason)
none of those kids have kept me young…
I'm cool on grandkids…I've always felt that way…
I am so totally with you on #5.
Cool. Let's make it happen.
Most of the things on my list are travel-related, and I've been lucking enough to do many of them.
I'd like to visit Britain and Africa again. #5 would totally work for me too.
Maybe you should start dragging Robin along with you
Great TT!
*hugs*
Paige
My TT is at http://paigetylertheauthor.blogspot.com/
Thanks Paige!
You've never been to another country?!?!
Okay, tell Slaus we're going to Italy for a little while.
Heh, heh, will do. (You see that, honey? SOMEBODY wants to take me somewhere)
::Singing in style of Altered Images' Clare Grogan (look it up on youtube and sing along):: "Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday…."
One question….why London, specifically. Intrigued, as a resident of this lovely little village….
Don't think I realized you lived there …
I've always thought of London as a cool place and the epitome of English culture. Plus it's the setting for a lot Doctor Who episodes. Maybe I'll visit Cardiff too, thanks to Torchwood.
I'm kidding. Sort of.
