I love a good story. Period. Therefore I’m a big fan of movies of all kinds. Although there are tons of movies I really enjoyed, there are only a few that I can watch repeatedly without getting bored. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are the best movies, it just means that they possess some quality that make me want to watch them over and over again, like great songs I can’t stop singing along to or characters so unusual they entrance me. Movies like:

2. Echanted

3. Star Trek

4. Moulin Rouge

8. To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything

I've seen all of the movies on your list but punch drunk love.
Happy TT.
Janice~
Punk Drunk Love is a very unusual love story. If you ever do check it out, I'd love to hear what you thought of it.
Love Star Trek. Hercules, and Beauty and the Beast! I'd also add Avatar and LOTR!
*hugs*

My TT is at http://paigetylertheauthor.blogspot.com
Oh yes, I love Avatar and LOTR!
Although I know most of these movies I've only seen a couple. I suddenly feel deprived…
Don't – I watch a LOT of movies …
1) Four times. But it's too see if I don't choke up in the end! No luck yet.
2) Once was enough. Patrick Dempsey as a leading man is grating to me.
3)Seen it once and loved the hell out of it! I'm waiting a bit before the second viewing. I love to tease myself that way.
4) Loved the fact that Tom Waits did a number in there, but not enough to make me watch the whole movie. Sorry, Tom.
5)Nah!
6) Didn't like it the first time.
7) I really did like the movie, but I don't think I'll want to have a second viewing.
Only liked John Leguizamo's performance.
9) Wouldn't mind seeing Hercules again.
10) Yeah, you know what? I would watch this again.
11)Once was enough for me. I guess I kinda relate to it.
12) Didn't get it the first time. Not curious enough for a second viewing.
13) Have it.
I do have movies that I would watch over and over, Shaun of the Dead still cracks me up on the fifth viewing.
I enjoyed Shaun of the Dead, but zombie movies don't get a lot of love in my house because my husband detests them so much.
That is useful information; thanks.
How do you guys feel about The Big Lebowski?
I don't believe I've seen it all the way through. Will have to add it to my list.
I love love love The Matrix!!!!
*squeals with you*
I have only seen 5 on your list but the first is one I will watch over and over. It just seems to hit me from a different perspective everytime I watch it. Great movie, book (read it twice) and story.
I love watching Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes (I'm such a dork), The truth about cats and dogs, Cinderella, The Lion King, The Sound of Music, anything with Tyler Perry's Madea in it (Yeah I said it! lol), and the Final Destination franchise. I find something so interesting in a story about someone or something messing up Death's job. I hope the writers some day tell us who.
Hey, there's nothing wrong with being a dork (not that I would know much about that personally. Err hrmm) but I too have seen and loved Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Truth About Cats and Dogs, Cinderella, The Lion King and The Sound of Music. For some reason or another though, I don't get the urge to watch any of those repeatedly. Well except for The Sound of Music. Now that you've brought it up, I have no idea why I don't own that wonderful movie …
I only saw one of the Final Destination movies. The movie about Death that I'm hooked on is Meet Joe Black. Hmm, that's yet another movie I need to buy!
I love the design of your blog; it's really eye-catching and slick.
Those movies are great! Such an eclectic mix. Hercules is a fun sleeper. Strong, like bull. Dumb, like ox. ~bwahahahaha~ Matrix – awesome. Own that one. Moulin Rouge is fantastic. I really think it deserves more attention than it got, because of how well it was done, from story to execution.
Hope all is well!! ~hugs~
Thanks for the compliments about my blog! I'm especially proud of it considering that I customized this design myself – with the help of my husband!
Yes, looking back at this list it is rather eclectic, isn't it. But oh well, I guess that's me. And yes, I really do think that Moulin Rouge deserved a lot more recognition, but I understand why it didn't – I had to force myself to sit through the entire thing the very first time I saw it. It wasn't until the second viewing that I began to appreciate it, and I fell in love with it around viewing #3. I've watched it so much, even my husband loves this movie now and sings along to each and every song with me.
To Wong Foo is probably one of my all time favorites.
The other is Clue. I mean, it's got Tim Curry….what's a girl supposed to do?
Tim Curry? Really? I always thought he was too underrated, but he also should've done better movies.
Never saw Clue. I do like Tim Curry, though.
Talk about variety!
I'd add Mulan to the list.
I liked Mulan. Hmm, I'm a serious Disney fan, aren't I.
Ah, yes… Star Trek and Wong Foo! What a combo! We should hang out and watch those together.
Happy TT!
LOL – what a fun time that would be indeed! We can make it happen for real you know, even if we're too far away to do it in person together. We could have a virtual movie night!
Gotta love those fail-proof movies one can watch over and over again. For me it's usually romantic comedies, but last weekend it was a classic B&W I've seen a number of times, but couldn't help watching again: Gas Light.
In reply to your post on my blog: Yes, we apparently have wild turkeys (the winged kind, lol) wandering about my neighborhood. Will be interesting to see if I cross paths with them again. *g*
I love romantic comedies too, funny that I only have 2 on this list. I've never seen Gas Light, will have to add that to my queue.
*snickers again at the turkeys in your neighborhood*
Gaslight is an awesome movie! It's been remade but I forget the title of that movie now.
To Wong Foo is fabulous. I agree with several on this list – including Star Trek which is just… yeah, I could watch that a million times. My list is a bit different, and now you make me want to do an answering list. lol
Hey, I think you should do an answering list. I'd love to see what you'd have on it.
Good golly…..13 films…..Well, a list off the top of my head;
a) 2001: A Space Odyssey
b) The Conversation
c) Hana-Bi
d) Chinatown
e) Anatomy of a Murder
f) French Connection (I & II – yea, that's a cheat – don't care!)
g) Apocalypse Now
h) The Thing (John Carpenter re-make)
i) Toy Story
j) Get Carter (original)
k) The Ipcress Files
l) The Italian Job (original)
m)The Shining
There are waaaaay more I've seen repeatedly though!!
That's a great list, Fubsy. I love all of those, especially 2001, Toy Story and The Shining. The Thing is a really, really good movie but I was barely able to watch it the two times I did without covering my eyes and cringing.
(There's lots more than 13 movies that I watch repeatedly, too, but I had to stop at 13 *winks*)
Yea, and I seem almost pathalogically unable to just go and enjoy some blockbuster stuff – in a way I'm a little envious of the more "light-hearted" additions mentioned. But I just can't do it!!!
It took about 4 viewings of the The Shining for it to really hit me – just how damned scary that film is. Haven't watched it since!
Jerk-ules.
