13 Movies I Can Watch Over And Over

by ** Tatiana Caldwell ** on May.27.2010

I love a good story. Period. Therefore I’m a big fan of movies of all kinds. Although there are tons of movies I really enjoyed, there are only a few that I can watch repeatedly without getting bored. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are the best movies, it just means that they possess some quality that make me want to watch them over and over again, like great songs I can’t stop singing along to or characters so unusual they entrance me. Movies like:

1. The Color Purple

Thirteen Crazy Things Said in My House

by ** Tatiana Caldwell ** on May.20.2010

I’m learning that living with a 2 year-old, a 5 year-old and a man of any age makes for some very, um “special” conversation:

  1. “Why do I have to go to school again? I just went yesterday.”
  2. “Stop dangling that at your brother, it’s inappropriate!”
  3. “Eww, I see your booty and it’s naked!”
  4. “But you can’t do work every day, Momma! That’s not fair.”
  5. “When I grow up, I want a husband and a wife!”
  6. “Well if you have your booty out, I have no choice but to slap it.”
  7. “If it hurts for the baby to come out of her stomach, then why did she put it in there?”
  8. “When I grow up, I’m going to be a doctor and look at people’s booty all day.”
  9. “You’re fired.”
  10. “Your booty’s fired, Mommy.”
  11. “Daddy, you really shouldn’t kiss Mommy so much. That’s just gross!”
  12. “I’m not going to tell you again to keep your hands out of my shirt. Next time you’re getting put on time-out.”
  13. (And this knock-knock joke:)

- “Knock knock.”
- “Who’s there?”
- “Booty.”
- “Booty who?”
- “Booty booty booty booty booty! Ha ha!”

Yup, there’s a strange fascination with booty in my house. And at least one of those booty sentences wasn’t actually spoken by a child … *side eyes my husband*

Life is a riot – live it and love it!

13 Paradoxes About Me

by ** Tatiana Caldwell ** on May.13.2010

If someone who’d never met me before were to say to me, “Tell me about yourself. Who are you? What are you like?” I’d probably blink and stare. I’m not so sure I could use words to tell anyone who I am and have it make sense because I’m not so sure that I make sense. Some people may see one side of me and others me see the opposite. People who see all of the conflicting traits of my personality – like my husband – just hug me and stroke my hair while saying “There, there. You’re crazy … but it’s going to be okay, baby.”

Some Paradoxes about me:

  1. I’m an extremely shy extrovert
  2. I’m an outgoing and flirty introvert
  3. I loathe parties but I can easily be the life of one
  4. Can’t stand looking at myself in the mirror but I like the way I look
  5. I can qualify to join MENSA but I’m deathly afraid of sounding stupid
  6. I’m a blind-folding, throat-choking, limb-binding, adventurous and likes-it-rough freak who thinks casual sex is a bit extreme
  7. Being on center stage terrifies me but I enjoy being the star of the show
  8. Story ideas come easily to me but I have a hard time getting them out
  9. I’m constantly at a loss for words but I talk way too much
  10. I hate jerks that I love
  11. I’m bold enough to bluntly speak my mind but I’m often afraid to
  12. The idea of alien abductions and visitation frightens me a bit but I love watching, reading and writing about alien visitation and abductions in romances
  13. I’m a we-are-the-world, save-the-dolphins-and-the-children, empathetic tree-hugger but I’m not sure that I really care

I’m a living, walking paradox. Am I the only one?

My novella SAY MY NAME contracted with Liquid Silver Books

by ** Tatiana Caldwell ** on May.7.2010

I’ve got great news!! I just recently signed my very first publishing contract!

My novella SAY MY NAME is the retelling of the fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin as a sexy fantasy romance (isn’t that how the story was meant to be told?). I began working on it in October of last year and finished polishing it this January, and now I’m pleased to announce that it has found a home with wonderful ePublisher Liquid Silver Books.

It’s still too early for a release date and I have yet to even think about cover design or a finalized blurb, but all of that is soon to come so stay tuned for more updates!

13 Reasons Being A Mother Is Great

by ** Tatiana Caldwell ** on May.6.2010

Mother’s Day is coming soon, and I’m a mommy twice over. Boy, motherhood is hard work and can sometimes be challenging, that’s for sure. But overall I love being a mother, and I thought I’d share thirteen reasons why:

  1. The hugs and kisses you get every day
  2. Harass your husband without expending any energy – just order your little minions to attack him
  3. The compliments – “Mommy you look pretty today!” – even when all you’ve done is simply brushed your hair for a change
  4. You have someone who needs your nurturing care … and can in return provide you with some care when you need it
  5. No need to look for the remote control or get up off the comfortable couch again to grab more salt for the popcorn when you can just send one of the kids to fetch it
  6. Hearing “I love you, mommy”
  7. Never look silly for going to the theater to see Disney movies without a child
  8. Seeing yourself in them
  9. A house full of toys, games and candy is a great one, I say
  10. You actually have a temporary excuse for that round, flabby tummy
  11. There’s someone to not only pass on your genes to, but your values, stories, memories and hard-earned assets to
  12. Feel pride in watching something beautiful you created learn, grow and mature
  13. You get to celebrate Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mommies out there!
