Boy was March crazy! It has been a few weeks since I’ve posted an update on my progress, so here is the latest status.
Please Tell Me You Love Me
Currently, my fantasy/paranormal romance manuscript, The Beauty of Death, is in the hands of an editor at a great publishing house. *bites fingernails* I am so nervous I could cry! It is such a humbling experience to hand over what feels like a masterpiece that you so carefully and tediously crafted for months to a person whose approval or rejection will affect its next fate. But it could easily be months before I hear anything, and so I’m back on the grind again working on the sequel as I patiently await a response.
Fantasies for Adults
I have also started a little side project – a set of online graphic fantasy short stories with my husband. He does the gorgeous artwork, I do the writing. I hope to launch the very first chapter soon, keep an eye out for an announcement! Depending on how much fun we have with this, we may look at creating some full-fledged graphic novels in the future.
Job Seeking
*sighs* As much as I love to write, until I actually earn some money from it I must earn some money to pay the bills. I am a Business Systems Analyst and so I having a good paying career, but I am just no longer happy with it. I thought that perhaps starting fresh at a new company would give me the pick-me-up I needed, and so I’ve been doing some job hunting this month. I did have a few successful interviews at some great companies. But you know what I realized? It isn’t the company that is the problem either, really. It is me. My passion is simply no longer with corporate America. It is in writing, and I need to quit trying to fool myself otherwise. So I will just stick with the job I have for now, and concentrate on making my dream of becoming a full-time writer a reality.
