For about two weeks I’ve been planning out my new novel, which I’m going to call The Beauty of Death. I created all of the characters and their biographies, developed a loose outline of the entire story, and made notes of all of the rules of the fantasy world which I have created (i.e. pulled out of my ass). I haven’t even started writing the actual book, yet already I’m feeling very good about it.
Hanging out at the Writer’s Digest message board, I met and befriended another aspiring Paranormal Romance writer. Sarah and I have so far swapped story synopses and have agreed to meet once or twice a week to monitor each other’s progress, provide feedback on each other’s work, and to bounce ideas off of each other. I’ve never had a writing buddy before, but Sarah seems nice and just as motivated as I am, and so I have positive expectations for this relationship.
I’ve got an off the wall idea for a story here, it involves such things as elves, unicorns, demons and fairies. Yet, it is dark, erotic, and has a lot of adventure, action and plot twists.
What? Haven’t you ever thought it would be entertaining to see Legolas pausing his battles with Sauron’s minions to indulge in wanton lust for some babe?
You know you have. Admit it.
