What Time Is It?

by ** Tatiana Caldwell ** on June.8.2007

I finished completely outlining all 6 sequels to a children series. Yay! It will be a cinch now to write the sequels when I am ready to attack them. At a minimum, I am prepared to talk to an agent about the books since I know exactly what is going to happen throughout the entire series.
However, I am struggling to finish outlining my next novels or to actually do much writing lately. Trying to find the time to write the amount that I want to is tough, since I actually have to do work for my JOB! Like, they want me to actually be productive in exchange for paying me! Imagine that!

I really need to somehow figure out a better schedule for writing. But that will definitely be a bit of a challenge. Currently, this is what my day looks like:

6:00a: Wake up
6:00a – 6:15a: Visit bathroom, brush teeth, make up bed
6:15a – 6:30a: Wake Son and get him dressed
6:30a – 8:00a: Workout, shower & dress
8:00a – 8:15a: Quick breakfast & logon to work
8:15a – Noon: Work
Noon Lunch Break (write, if not busy with work still)
1:00p – 5:15p: Work
5:15p -6:15p: Son home: give undivided attention
6:15p – 7:00p: Prepare & eat dinner
7:00p – 7:30p: Clean up & other chores
7:30p – 8:00p: Family activity time
8:00p – 9:00p: Bath & bedtime routine for Son
9:00p-10:00p: Give Husband undivided attention
10:00p-11:00p: ME TIME! Write/Watch TV/Read a book
11:00p- 6:00a: Snooze

I’m not even getting 8 full hours of sleep most days. And this with only 1 child, so I’m a bit nervous to see what’s going to happen when Son #2 gets here! I am finding it challenging to find the time to write, other than on the weekends, while working a full time job. But I can’t quit my job until I make some serious money writing, but can’t really write like I want to until I quit my job. It is like a serious catch-22.

*sighs* I guess a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right? And that means whatever I can, whenever I can.

What time is it right now? Ooops, let me get off this blog and get to writing!
